Husband and wife Alan and Carol Clark are playing opposite each other in Tryst Theatre's Whisky Galore in Behind the Wall next month...for the first time in almost 50 years!

Carol recalls: "Amazingly, the last time we did this was in 1976 when Alan was Kipps and I was Ann Pornick in Half a Sixpence with Larbert Opera in the Dobbie Hall. It's taken us almost half a century to get together again on the stage!"

In Whisky Galore, set in 1942, Alan plays Captain Waggett, the pompous, officious head of the Home Guard in the Outer Hebrides who tries in vain to stop the thirsty islanders from removing 50,000 cases of whisky from the wreck. The islands have descended into anarchy!

Carol plays his long-suffering wife Dolly. She knows he's stuffy and self-important but she's loyal and stands by him. And in a surprising turn of events, we find that she develops a liking for the amber nectar, as the picture shows. Slainte!!!

As usual, your ticket gets you the hour-long play plus a pizza and a drink.

Behind the Wall’s Jane Lafferty said: “This is the way modern theatre should be – entertaining, engaging, intimate, casual, cosy. A fun show and great acting plus you get fed and watered too. What could be better than that?”

Whisky Galore runs in Behind the Wall from August 19-23. Doors open at 7pm for pizza and a drink, with the show starting at 8pm. Tickets are priced £15 and are available now from TicketSource.
