Tryst Theatre's new show in Behind the Wall is Shakespeare's most-loved comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Well, sort of!

Because this is a hilarious modern-day bonkers "Dream". With modern language. In today's clothes.

It's Shakespeare’s magical tale of confusion, delusions and desires brought bang up to date by Falkirk writer Kenny Ross.

Plus love potions, terrible acting and chaotic fairy mischief all creating eighty minutes of romantic, riotous comedy.

The story? From your school days, you'll remember that four young lovers get lost in the woods outside Athens on the eve of a Royal Wedding. Hermia is in love with Lysander, Lysander is in love with Hermia...but Demetrius is also in love with Hermia and Helena is in love with Demetrius!

You'll recall there's a play within the play. And there's also Oberon, Titania, Puck and Bottom, the world's worst but most enthusiastic amateur actor, who temporarily turns into a donkey. He's a total ass!

The young lovers are Jennifer Marjoribanks, Rebecca Muir, Ross Melville and Owen Taylor.

The magical Oberon and Titania are David Webster and Rhona McColl. Our mischievous Puck is Audrey Beveridge.

The incompetent am dram actors and their frazzled Director are Brian Paterson, Janice Frame, Craig Murray, Callum Nicol, Alan Clark and Carol Clark.

And the Athenian royalty and toffs are Joyce Baker, Steve Baker and Jean Kendal.

Tryst Chairman Frank Murray said: "It's quite a contrast to our bittersweet last show, The Greatest. Now a big cast of sixteen exuberantly transform upstairs in Behind the Wall into an enchanted forest. It's surreal, ridiculous and lots of fun."

Director Alan Clark said: "It's theatre as it should be - a lot of laughs and some daft audience participation with a pizza and a drink thrown in. What more do you want!"
