TRYST THEATRE
Established 1978
TRYST THEATRE is performing a wonderful programme of Christmas readings and music in two local churches in December.
Some twenty members of Tryst will perform in Larbert's Tryst Church, formerly Larbert East, and in Falkirk's Christ Church in Kerse Lane.
The new hour-long event, called A Tryst Christmas, will raise funds for Falkirk Foodbank, KLSB Foodbank and Aberlour Scotland's Children's Charity.
Tryst Chairman Frank Murray said: "We first got the fun idea when we saw the new Tryst Church sign outside the building.
"We thought - two Trysts! We should do something together since we share the same name and the Christmas show developed from that.
"And as Christ Church is my church, we were delighted to offer Tryst another venue and audience three days later."
Tryst's Carol Clark has been assembling the club's seasonal programme.
She said: "It's a lovely varied programme featuring many much-loved Christmas pieces - from The Birth of Jesus, A Child's Christmas in Wales and Ballad of the Bread Man to an excerpt from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
"There's even a Scottish singalong version of The Twelve Days of Christmas to finish off the concert on a high.
"Tryst Church and Christ Church have been wonderful partners in this innovative venture and are both providing their own Christmas choral and instrumental music for the show. It will be a perfect curtain-raiser for Christmas this year."
Tryst Church was formed earlier this year by the union of four churches - Airth, Stenhouse & Carron, Larbert West and Larbert East.
The Tryst Church performance in Larbert is on Thursday December 11 at 7pm. Entry is by donation at the church door, with proceeds going to Falkirk Foodbank and KLSB Foodbank.
The Christ Church show is on Sunday December 14 at 3pm. Tickets priced £8 are available at the church door before the show with proceeds going to Aberlour Scotland's Children's Charity. Seasonal refreshments after the performance are included in the ticket price.
