One-Act Play Festival

Feb 2, 2009

Tryst will enter two plays in the SCDA Falkirk District one-act play festival on February 21-22 in Bowhouse Community Centre, Grangemouth.

Saturday February 21: The Bespoke Overcoat by Wolf Mankowitz concerns Morry, a Jewish tailor who, in a drunken stupor, sees his dead friend Fender. Fender has returned to take what he is due from the living - the harsh employer who dismissed him for being too old. Nothing will satisfy him but a coat from his employer's stock and Morry in his dream helps his friend to raid the warehouse. The actors are Richard Mackintosh, Brian Tripney, Gary Macfarlane and Jim Allan, who also directs.

Sunday February 22: After Liverpool by James Saunders is a sexual comedy about love, desire, feelings and relationships, and how they can fail through a failure to communicate. In twenty-two encounters, three couples - the same "Adam" and "Eve" at different points in their lives and relationships - act out the sometimes absurd and meaningless games people in love play. The actors are Ross Melville, Jennifer Marjoribanks, Brian Paterson, Rhona Law, Carol Clark and Alan Clark, who also directs.
