Tryst Through To Scottish Finals

Apr 3, 2007

Tryst are through to the Scottish finals of a major drama festival.

Their play Pugilist Specialist was placed second at the SCDA Eastern Divisional Final in Cupar on March 31, booking them a place at the Scottish Finals in Greenock at the end of April.

Adjudicator Jim Gibson complimented the cast - Rhona Law, Brian Paterson, Jim Allan and Alan Clark - on their "nicely judged and subtle handling of a complex play".

So Tryst will join eight other teams from as far afield as Wick, Fintry, Dingwall and Kirkintilloch in the seventy-fifth Scottish Finals at the Greenock Arts Guild Theatre. Tryst have been drawn to open the festival and will perform first on Thursday April 26.

Tryst President Frank Murray said: "It's wonderful to be representing Falkirk District at this prestigious festival. If we are to do well in competition with eight excellent plays, we must be at the top of our game."
