Yes, our Brian has a split personality…in fact he has six!

Award-winning actor Brian is taking part in Tryst Theatre’s new comedy Writer’s Cramp in Behind the Wall next month along with his chums Rhona McColl, Jim Allan and Alan Clark.

And in the slick rollicking satire he plays SIX different parts – including an absent-minded school headmaster, an upper class twit and a seductive landlady (yes, really).

The costume changes are lightning-fast, sometimes with just seconds to spare, but it’s a challenge Brian relishes.

“It’s great to portray six very different characters and find different comedic aspects in them all. Along with all the other characters played by Jim, Alan and Rhona, our audiences will have a great laugh,” he says.

Writer’s Cramp by John Byrne tells the life story of Francis Seneca McDade, an obscure and pathetic writer from Paisley. McDade is introduced to the audience by members of the adoring Nitshill Writing Circle.

Added Brian: “The joke is they are all starstruck idiots who think McDade is a genius but it becomes clear that he is a total buffoon and an utter failure.”

Writer’s Cramp is the latest offering in Behind the Wall’s fun “Pizza and Play” season. For your £12 ticket, you get a pizza, a drink, and Tryst’s hour-long play.

It runs from Monday April 25 - Friday April 29, and tickets are going fast, with Friday already sold out. Get your tickets now at www.ticketsource.co.uk/trysttheatre

Our picture shows Brian with some of the different costumes he'll be wearing in the play. No wonder he looks confused!
