TRYST THEATRE
Established 1978
Join us for a pizza, a drink . . . and two short laugh-out-loud comedies.
The Bear and The Proposal have totally different plots but have one thing in common: they feature a hilarious no-holds-barred battle of the sexes.
The two short farces focus on the age-old question of which is the weaker or stronger sex… and how volcanic arguments can erupt in trying to answer that tricky question
In The Bear, set in Scotland in the 1890s, Jean Kendal and David Webster lock horns. A bully of a male attempts to recover money owed to him from a recently widowed but sparky female. Will he get his money? Or will she give as good as she gets? Callum Nicol completes the cast and Alan Clark directs.
Meanwhile, in The Proposal, set somewhere in Russia in the nineteenth century, it's Rhona McColl up against Brian Tripney. It pits a shy hypochondriac against a woman who feels she is fast running out of suitors. Can her father bring them together despite their quarrelling over the most trivial issues? Carol Clark and Howard Sargeant also feature and Jim Allan directs.
Battle commences in Behind the Wall on March 6th for five nights. Who will win? Come and join us to find out.
Doors open 7pm for pizza and drinks. The evening starts at 8pm with a short interval after the first play.
Tickets, for which you get a pizza, a drink and two comedies, are priced at £12 and available now from www.ticketsource.co.uk/trysttheatre
