Four thuggish nightclub bouncers take to the stage in Larbert next month with jokes, bad attitude...and handbags!

Tryst Theatre are staging the smash-hit comedy Bouncers in the town’s Dobbie Hall, with well-known actors Jim Allan, Alan Clark, Brian Paterson and Brian Tripney playing the four tough doormen.

Described as “outrageous five-star X-rated hilarity”, Bouncers by John Godber is the tale of one Friday night in a Northern nightclub, with the non-stop action focusing on the exploits of the four men and their drunken customers – with the Tryst quartet playing over fifty different parts.

In the tatty glamour of the club we meet the raucous lager-swilling lads, the lipsticked, tipsy girls...even the smooth-talking DJ, the hairdresser, the late-night kebab man and many more.

And if they’re playing four giggling girls out to have fun in the club, the guys need handbags!

Tryst Theatre first performed the multi award-winning play in the old Larbert High School in 1992 and have decided to bring it back twenty-two years on.

Jim Allan and Alan Clark once again take on the parts of Lucky Eric and Les while Brian Paterson and Brian Tripney join them as Ralph and Judd.

Jim, who also directs, said: “Fast, frantic and fantastically funny, Bouncers is an extraordinary piece of physical theatre. Already tickets are going fast as word spreads about this amazing play.”

Bouncers, which has strong language, will be staged in Larbert’s Dobbie Hall from December 8-10 at 7.30pm nightly. Tickets - £10 and £7 (concessions) - are available from the Tryst 24-hour booking line on 07597 981 949 or from the Box Office on 01324 715886.
